Established in 1992, Elite Swimming has grown to cater for more than 2000 participants per week in our Learn-to-Swim programs and training squads. We now have various programs operating from four facilities catering for a range of needs from pre-school aquatics to swimmers at national level competition.
Our fundamental philosophy derives from our competitive swimming background. Early levels of our teaching stages in the program focus on water awareness and personal safety and once mobility and individual confidence is attained the program alters to channelling the teaching of all strokes with correct technique and fluency. Our approach is to be amiable and thorough without being overly persistent in developing children before their time.
We believe in small classes in the early stages of development, which has been a cornerstone aspect of the success of our Learn to Swim program. As well as their professional credentials, our staff train regularly through ‘in-house’ sessions, which focus on both teaching of swimming and human development. We pride ourselves in recruiting many of our staff from senior swimmers in our squad training programs, so that they can bring their own swim training experience and expertise into their teaching.
